Armani Advert Analysis


This advert has been created to focus on the underwear in which armani has to offer. When we look at the advert we instantly witness a male and a female in an almost intimate position and we get the impression that they're a couple despite being Victoria and David Beckham.The fact that there is also a bed shown on the advert creates an even more sexual atmosphere. The idea of the advert is to create the impression on people, the impression being that if you where to wear the underwear provided by Armani will make you more attractive, bring you more enjoyment and make you feel all round better about yourself and using these two celebrities emphasises this idea. 

As we are aware David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are a famous married couple being married for 14 years makes the advert seem real, almost like an insight to the Beckhams life behind closed doors. I believe that sophistication is one of the key theme ideas of this advert and the filter of the image being black and white contributes to that theme. The advert being black and white also suggests power due to the powerful colours.

The way in which the two are positioned is very comfortable suggesting that they're very comfortable around one another, there is no distance between them and this may also represent romance and the bond between both David and Victoria.

Using celebrities within adverts is a vert clever idea as celebrities are seen as icons. Victoria being a fashion designer may draw the attention of females who look up to her and follow her fashion as they therfore may feel like they need to wear Armani lingerie if they want to follow in her footsteps. David as we all know is a huge sports star and very popular with women which may be a reason why other males will want to wear Armani underwear as they might get the impression that this will boost their confidence and help them to recieve the attention they're craving.
