Poster Analysis
In this Emporio Armani poster the main thing that catches your eye before anything else is David and Victoria Beckham, the reason of this being is simply because David and Victoria are taking up most of the poster. But if we are to analyse further, this isn't just any ordinary poster with David and Victoria on the front, this poster has a lot meaning and themes that describe the brand with and without words. For example, David and Victoria Beckham are a couple of high status and wealth, which implies that Emporio Armani are a high class, expensive brand, as David and Victoria Beckham are not going to wear cheap underwear, it also shows Emporio Armani make underwear for both men and women. Also the way David and Victoria are posing shows that Emporio Armani are a sophisticated, sexual brand, as most couples don't lie around like that, so in a way this shows that most brads aren't like Armani, which shows uniqueness. If we apply rule of thirds to this poster we can see Victoria's eyes are in the middle, but are not focused directly at us, this gives a sense of mystery, as this photo has no initial story to it. Apart from David and Victoria Beckham being on the poster, the fact that the the poster is black and white shows that the poster is colour co-ordinated, as Victoria's bra is black, and David Beckham's underwear are white, this also shows that the brand isn't bright and easy going, but that it's dark and brooding. As well as David and Victoria Beckham being an essential part to the posters success, the Emporio Armani logo is just as important, as there seems to be some sort of eagle involved with the logo. Armani didn't add an eagle into there logo, just because they like Eagles, but because eagles represent, power and dominance, as eagles are predators, no other animal hunts them, this implies that Armani is a brand for powerful people, like David and Victoria Beckam.
