1a). The Mainstreamer is the largest group of society they are people who live in the world of the domestic and the everyday. For Mainstreamers I have chosen Disney as it is a well loved, popular mass media company. They are a well established brand with an established track record and style. As the Mainstreamers main need in life is security they know that they are going to get what the expect and how there high expectations for the films will be met.

The succeeders possess self confidence, they have a strong goal and tend to be very organised. They stick to the norm and when it comes to brands they seek good quality and prestige. The succeeders would invest in a product like the Apple Watch as it is good quality and helps you stay organised. As well as, it being different to normal watches which in my option is the most advanced watch on the market. As the succeeders core need in life is control, having everything you need on your wrist gives them a high level of control.

The explorers are driven by a need for discovery, challenge and new frontiers. They often the first people to try out new things. I have chosen Ru Pauls Drag Race for this as it is aimed at the LGBT community however, the explorer would watch it even if it wasn't aimed at them as difference is what they seek out. It is an entertaining show with some inspirational people so I feel like it would appeal to the explorer as it is different but they open the doors for people outside that bracket to watch  and enjoy the show.


The Aspirer is a materialistic person who is driven by other people perceptions of them rather than there own values. I have chosen glamour magazine as it is a magazine which promotes beauty and fashion. It focuses on gossip, fashion trends, and hair and beauty tips. The aspires would read this media text as if they like to focus on image, apperance, persona, charisma and fashion which links in perfectly with the magazine.

1b). In my opinion, I think these audience classifiers are useful as it allows us to see what type of people fit in what catorgaries for example, the mainstreamer represents most people in society as they are the largest group of people within the 4C's across the world as most people do watch or read mainstream TV however, most of the audience classifieds  overlap as the mainstreamer could also be a succeeded as mainstreamers also need a sense of control in there life as they as they respond to offers of value for money, and I feel as if they link as well because each either seek security or control and they tend to overlap.

1c). A programme which is currently on television is loose women. It is a talk show were women talk about gossip and current topics. This programme is mostly shown mid day which shows me that it mostly aimed at unemployed, part time workers or people who work from home. The viewers I would say are 30+ as most of the women on the show are that age. The fact that the show is all women shows how women watching can relate to them. I would say that most of the people watching are parents as hey often talk about parenting and motherhood so it will appeal to that audience. I can see why this show is enjoyable for women to watch as its showing women hosting a talk show so it gives the women watching empowerment in my opinion.

1d).  I think the people who watch Disney would come under traditionals as these are people who want everything to remain the same and you tend to get that with Disney films there is always a happily ever after and you can expect a good film as every film they have made has been great.

I feel like people who own an Apple Watch would come under rebels as their core need in life in control and they want everything to fit in with their idea of how things should be. However, it could also come under groupies as having a controlled life is seen as a good thing and people tend to look up to that so they are accepted by people around them.

I think RuPauls Drag race would be Utopians as the people who watch it want to give close minded people a chance to see that everyone deserves an equal chance. Also these people inspire others like the rebels. They give them a path way to make the world a better place.The utopians see everyone as equal no matter what your sexuality, race or gender etc.

I think people who read glamour magazine would come under the innovators as they care what they look like and always want to make their mark on the world as they care about how they are presented.  As well as, them fitting in with the trendies as they want to be admired just like the people in the magazine.

Finally, I think Loose women would fit in the category of the groupies as they want to be accepted by people around them for example, the show always talks about the best way to do things.
