Overwatch Review
I started playing Overwatch over a month ago now and has been one of the most enjoyable multiplayer games I have played. I was watching some of my favourite youtubers and also on social media, people began to play it and I watched. Seeing all of them play it and enjoy the game, as well as the idea too. I decided to buy it. The game is a first person-shooter, as well as a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) as it allows the user to only stick to a few characters per game and involves a lot of team building. The Cinematic trailer might fill you in on some of the points I am making.
Overwatch was made by the massive gaming company, Blizzard. It wasn't originally meant to be a game, another game was in development as Blizzard needed a new game to compete with it's rivals but slowly became a lost idea by the company. They decided to scrap it and develop a game which had traditional gaming styles but with a giant twist and different ways of playing and doing things. It got everybody hyped for it and was made because of the massive support group it gained, making it a reality today. It was originally made to compete with others but changed its main purpose to delivering to fans for almost exactly what they wanted.
The target audience of this game is 12-35 Year old males who are either in education or working in a white collared Job. This is because it is as simple or complex as you want it to be. You can chose to play for the fun multiplayer with your friends or competitively with your team against others to become the best in the world. A typical overwatch player normally uses a big chunk of their free time on the game and enjoy the exciting and new concepts, characters and maps throughout the game. But it could also be for a older audience as it has a big and deep backstory behind each and every character you play, meaning it gain a rather different audience due to this.
