This can easily be the difference between two grades in your overall coursework mark. If you have been working consistently through out the project then the good news is that this will be easy!
Here's the booklet...
Completing Part One - Storyboards
- Find your research posts, they should be on this blog.
- Find examples of conventions from music videos that you have used in your storyboards.
- Write up exactly what video - used what technique and exactly what part of your storyboards it influenced.
- Do this for at least ten different music videos and therefore, ten different parts of your storyboards!
- Do this in no more than 800 words.
Here's a sample paragraph:
A
Music Video which had a direct influence over my own storyboards would be
Madonna’s Papa Don’t Preach. The setting of this iconic 80s promo sets the scene via
a number of quick establishing shots which allow the audience to
ascertain that the video is set in New York. This is through the iconography of
the city for example; The Statue of Liberty, The Brooklyn Bridge and so on.
All
of which are edited
to coincide with the beat of the music.
This
has informed my storyboards as
when the video moves from shots of the band in the studio to exterior
shots of a
young couple strolling in a park. These shots not only establish the setting
quickly (a park bench, a duck pond), but they also establish the tone and mood
of the video through slow paced editing which matches the music.
