Option 2

Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!Music Videos have established themselves firmly as not only a Medium distinct from others but arguably an art form. Some of the most innovative filmmakers in the world are either making or have worked in the Music Video industry. The visionary David Fincher, the quirky and surreal Spike Jonze and even professional explosion maker Michael Bay all cut their teeth making music videos.

Now that they have thrown off the shackles of being merely 'translations of songs' and broken free of simply being adverts for artists to extend their personas, music videos have become avenues for pioneering new effects and techniques, challenging audiences with controversial views and ideologies as well as finding original ways of telling stories.

That's not to say that music videos have entirely shed the elements that have made them such a prominent force of popular culture. Most promos still use the conventions that mass audiences recognise and expect. In addition to this each year sees an increase in the canon of iconic videos that will be referred to in other videos for decades to come.

Music Videos are always fascinating to study and they become more innovative every year. This project provides you with the opportunities to improve your analytical skills and deconstruct how these promos really work, but more importantly you can be really creative and cutting edge - learn from the videos that are out there and say something in a way that has incredible impact.
