Representation of Masculinity in Slumdog Millionaire

The representation of masculinity in a key element throughout Slumdog Millionaire, as both Jamal and Salim represent Masculinity in the complete opposite way. Beginning with Jamal: Jamal represents masculinity in a positive way, as the plot moves along, Jamal grows into being this strong willed masculine character, although he does not look or have the appearance of a strong minded man. His masculinity is shown in the scene where Jamal pushes Salim off the building, it is as if that's what Jamal wants to do but because he has grown up to become this masculine strong willed character with knowledge, he does not act upon his feelings, he does the correct thing and ignores his temptations.
