The Big
Bang Theory
The Big
Bang Theory is aimed at people in categories C1- D in the Income/ Status model
as it is about people working in a university which means people in these
categories would be able to relate to it in some way or they will be able to
understand most of the humor and what they say as there is a lot of science jokes
and science facts mentioned so people will need to be well educated. It will
also appeal to students however it would not appeal to most of the other people
in the E part of the model.
It
appeals to people of both genders as there is a lot of comic books and super
heroes mentioned which will appeal to boys but there is also a small love story
in it which will appeal to girls. It appeals mostly to people over 16 and under
40, people who have been to university will relate to this the most so will be
the most interested in watching it. People who don’t follow a religion are most
likely to enjoy this series because it is about people studying science. Things
like ethnicity, politics and nationality don’t matter.
People
who are mainstreamers will watch this as it is a show that you can watch with
friends and because it is a series then they will know what to expect from each
episode which also appeals to traditionalists.
