On the GQ magazine the main image of Clint Eastwood is in front of everything else on the front cover that includes the Masthead e.t.c. and this is because this is more important than everything else on the firnt cover. The Strapline to the GQ magaizine is "LOOK SHARP LIVE SMART" this shows this magazine is for gentlemen and people aged around 35-60 years of age this is also represented by the main image of Clint Eastwood as he represents class and a lot of people consider him smart. The strapline on this magazine is for the aspirer and the reason I believe this is because this magazine is saying by reading this magazine you will look sharp and live smart. Also this magazine plays on whatmenh usually like becaus for example the main coverline is "Badass of the year" and as we know a lot of men aspier to be like what Clint Eastwood is in films and that is at the coverline says a bad ass. Also the other coverlines play on men's stereotyped ideologies and the things they like as one of the other coverlines is "The best stuff 09" and underneath it tells the consumer that cars, clothes, food, music, gadgets and more and at this point GQ use and engima code to hide what else is in that section and this helps tease us into buying the magazine as we want to find out what are the other things on the list. Also on the firnt cover it has USP'S that not all magazines will have for a start Clint Eatwood but also it is called "MEN OF THE YEAR ISSUE" making people that are not sure whcih magazione to pick up will go for this as this will make them thinkthat this is the only "MEN OF THE YEAR ISSUE" of a magfazone out there and also it makes the magazine sound like a limmited edition encticing people to buy it even more.    
 
 

SAGA MAGAZINE

 

This magazine is like GQ because it is mostly a gentlemen magazine and the first way we can see this is by the main image like GQ the main image is of an old man Micheal Caine who is regardded again as a claassy and wise man. They could of used a younger more famous actor like Brad Pitt but he does not match the ideologieses of the magazine. Also this magazine touches on topics that sophisticated men want to read for example they go in depth on topics like televsion that that other media outlets would never usually touch on. Also this magazone has a USP of being the UK's best selling magazine as it's strapline and the reason it has this is because this is the UK's best selling mobnthly magazine which intregues people into buyingit as the magazine thyen seems a lot more reliable because a lot of people are readingf it this alos fits in with the mainstreamer. This is because the people reading the magazine can always be kept in the loop of conversatins and never be left. Also the audience of over 50's on this magazine has been shown by using topics that explore people getting old for example this means that these topics then relate to them also they have used Micheal Caine who is an icon and a legend in the entertainment business that people over 50 will be able to relate to and also recognise.
 

Own Examples

FIFA 14

EA created FIFA with the knowledge they were always going to sell millions of copies of it and the reason this is is because FIFA is based off the the hugely popular sport football so they know they are going to sell millions as this is a massive sport. The way they do this is by always getting the biggest stars in world football to be in the adverts for example Messi or Aguero as these are football players the fans of football really respect and like so will be enticed when major stars of the game like this are advertsing it as we trsut the players so send up trusting the game. Also the way theby target the mainstreamers is by always telling the audience that this is the most realistc football game to date and this makes the conusmers believe they feel can feel even more like their sporting heroes now because of the extra realism in the game I also believe this game is aged at 10-45 year olds because from that age people start to get more sophisticated and start to lose interest in games.  
 
 
 

The Matrix

 

The Matrix is a revoluternory film that defiend how Sci-Fi films where looked and because of this a lot of people went to watch the movie so alot of people talked about it espically having a strong protagonist that everyone looks up to. These are the reasons I believ this movie is meant for the aspirer and the mainstreamer as a lot of people are interested in Sci-Fi and action and this movie has the perfect blend of it so this movie gets people talking and no one is then left out of a conversation as every mainstreamer will have seen it. I believe this film is also for the aspirere as this film takes your average working man and makes him a hero that goes between two worlds gets the girl and saves the world and this is what men aspirers would ove to be anyway.
 
 

Call Of Duty4: Modern Warfare

 

Call Of Duty 4 was a revolutinorey game being the first war modern shooter to succesful and the reason this probably is because this game was released at the height of the Afganhistan war so this games was able to relateb to a lot of people making this game for the mainstreamer also this game is aimed at 14-45 year olds and this is because at these ages people are wanting to feel like the hero and can be succesful at that with thid game which makes this game also for the aspirer .
