Sequence 1 And 2
American Drama's run in series and are not continuous, giving them the advantage of airing the show when it suits them, for instants the Walking Dead is aired around halloween increasing the audience size as it relates the theme of the month. This Genre concentrates a lot of the time on developing character over a long period of time spread out over a series. This resulting in the audience having an intimate relationship the characters on screen as you start to know the characters inside out also almost making the become predictable giving the show a chance to challenge our expectations if the audience become to comfortable with the show and characters becoming to predictable.
A lot of the time these shows are used for escapism an chance to delve into someone else's life thats why they are so detailed and developed over time so you can understand and resinate with the story.
T) Camera Movement is constant throughout showing that this is a fast paced show that is constantly changing and that is constantly on the move. S) Everywhere shown to us is constantly desolate and run down as though every single place has been abandoned, instantly telling us that we are are watching a show where some sort of natural disaster has occurred. W) When the title comes in it sharply appears word by word giving it a somewhat violent feel, also adding to the run down dirty nature of the opening sequence the font is a brown murky and white colour showing us so sort of decay.
Characters
Settings
A lot of American Action Drama's are set in an urban society that has a streak poverty. So as a result of this poverty you have a lot of settings that are run down but to contrast this and to see the severity of poverty you also have an equal amount of wealth and structures that are built by the wealthy. More common or not it will be on a lot of rooftops as they are isolated and hard to access showing a form of rebellion against society also expressing that character has no set place like a office or even a place to sleep not one that they want anyone else to know anyway, so saying that they don't want to give anything way about there self to other characters.
Tv Narrative
With in American Action Drama there is sometimes so much going on that there has to a lot of narrative techniques put in place to be able to got the whole story in and to get the information needed across to the audience for the narrative to move forward. So one popular one used would be flash back to give a character depth and understanding when showing there life before present day and how they have developed over time giving a more intimate relationship with the audience. Also a good narrative technique for this is the parallel
Technical Codes
Camera work with in American Action Drama's is very wide to say that least and hasn't got any really specific set way of which it is done to convey convention, i suppose you could say the pace is the majority of the time is quite fast and the camera does a lot of tracking towards the most active point of interest, circling them like the characters are in some sort of arena
