The film memento is a brilliantly told non linear narrative that is a perfect example of how the right approach to storytelling can elevate a film, it grasps the audiences attention because it goes against what you are brought up with stereotypical films, in film where you are given expectations on what is going to happen and you can draw conclusions to the climax of a film, yet being told what happens first and having to draw your own conclusions t how it happens is what makes memento a fantastic film to watch.
"Because stories are all around us, spectators approach a narrative film with definite expectations"
This film shows you the supposed ending of it at the beginning and the story line of the film is following how we got to this ending. The directer shows you the killing of a character "Teddy" and you judge him throughout the film as the killer than leonard is after, However the end of the film throws the question of who killed Leonard's wife wide open. The scene at the end where leonard is told by teddy that his memory of sammy jankins is actually his own storyline goes against the whole aspect of the film and makes you see it in another light.
