Divergent Movie Review.

The 2014 Movie 'Divergent' is an action/adventure film, featuring romance. It's based on a world divided by five fractions, based on virtues. The main Character, Tris (Shailene Woodley), is tested as Divergent, and so changes the plot to her destiny. When she discovers a conspiracy by a faction leader, she has to learn to trust in the fraction she has chosen, and even more so, trust in the mysterious 'Four' (Theo James) to discover why being Divergent can be so dangerous.

This movie is based off a book series, written by Veronica Roth, set in the so-called Divergent Universe, which features a post-apocalyptic version of Chicago. With the Film being based off the book, it has a lot of high standards to reach, meaning the actors have to play their characters right. The styling throught the film clothing wise compliments the theme of the film well. For exmaple, each 'fraction' on the city has a different style to them, and i believe it's been portrayed correctly. I also think it's great the way they use the dark clothing in the darker scenes, because it emphasises the atmosphere and adventurous mood which is created. Also, I personally think the actors and actresses do a fantastic job of playing their characters. I feel like, whilst watching this film, they make it seem more real, and allow the person watching to become more intrigued in what's going on.

Overall, I recommend this film to any action/adventure lovers, as it involves everything this genre of movie would need. What's more, the actors portray their roles well, and the scenery and costumes do an excellent job at complimenting the setting of the film.
