Audience Classification on The X-Factor.

A text I have consumed this week that I'm going to talk about is 'The X-Factor '. The X-Factor is a week by week show in which ordinary people sing on the show in order to get to the next stage. This show features a lot of different contestants, some good and some bad, both play a part in the popularity of the show. He show has 4 stages, the auditions, boot camp, the judges houses and finally the live shows.


The category this show would most likely appeal to would be The Mainstream, this is because  The X-Factor is an extremely popular show and the Mainstreamers would watch this because it would help them interact with society, as the show would give them a gateway into a subject therefore making them for more secure, which is their core need in life. You could also argue that this show would interest the Aspirer as they could relate to some of the contestants. The Aspirers are driven by others perceptions of them, and want to impress everyone, which is also similar to some of the contestants, therefore the Aspirers could relate.
