Media Diary Week 1

The British TV series Misfits is a drama, comedy and fantasy show based on a group of young offenders doing community service. Whilst doing their service they get struck by lightening during a storm and develop superpowers. However, they do not realise that it is not only them that has developed superpowers, and have to face the consequences of others' new abilities. Each characters' superpower relates to them and how they are in everyday life, for example; Simon is shy and is classed as a 'loner' so his power is to turn invisible and Curtis was once an Olympic runner but got banned due to the use of drugs so his power is to turn back time. I love this show as it is intriguing, hilarious and gritty all at the same time. My favourite character is Nathan as he never fails to make me laugh. Within every episode he always manages to make a crude comment at the wrong time, making the audience love him more. I was quite disappointed when he left near the end of series 3 as he was one of the main reasons why I watched the show and it wouldn't be the same without him. From him leaving I felt like Misfits couldn't survive and the TV series went down hill.
