Genre Homework

Guardians of the Galaxy

The film 'guardians of the galaxy' is a hybrid genre most known for sci-fi but including action, fantasy and comedy. The themes of this movie are family, love, sacrifice and adventure. This is evident through the use of generic codes, specifically mise-en-scene. The setting helps us realise what genre it is by the spaceships flying through the universe past all the different planets. The props show that the genre is set in the future due to the weapons used. The weapons are advanced technology and are not the usual weapons that would appear in films such as The Godfather.
