James Bond - Spectre trailer

The James Bond trailer is typical of the Action genre.
It provides the audience with the Binary Opposition of Good vs Evil. This is shown by Bond as being a agent on a mission to defeat and destroy an evil organisation.

The trailer has many fast cut shots to show that his mission it limited on time and this makes the trailer intense. Mise-en-scene is used in this trailer by showing James Bond in different countries across the world, starting with him exploding a building. This is typical of Bond by him not being phased by destroying things or killing people. The lighting is effective in this trailer by hiding the villain in the shadows where Bond is unable to see his face, this keeps the audience wondering who Bonds opponent is. James Bonds is constantly seen in suits which is typical of this movie along with guns and sports cars. This defines the character by the costumes and props and this is part of what he is known for. We also see his villains logo on a ring and a computer, this is shown as being mysterious.

The plot of this movie sticks to the typical method of the previous movies. As usual, James Bond has a mission to defeat his opponents with some setbacks throughout the film. The film contains gun fights between James Bond and his enemies and car chases. These key parts are show on the trailer to show intensity. As many Bond films have been released before this one most audience members know what to expect because it seems like the producers are following the previous films tradition. By sending James Bonds character to other countries can keep the movie interesting. He is seen in Mexico at the beginning of the trailer killing people, which he describes as "taking a overdue holiday". This shows humor in the trailer as to him killing people is simple. He is also seen in a country surrounded by snow and forest, this lets the audience know that his mission is important and is based in more than one place.

The main character in the film is of course James Bond. Even if people have not seen one of the films this name is very iconic. James Bond is a secret agent who fights people and organisations throughout the movie franchise. In this trailer we see him fighting many people and this shows us that the film will be action packed. The audience know what to expect due to Daniel Craig staring in previous Bond movies, they know that he will come out on top. A woman takes place in every James Bond movie to connote romance. This method takes place in every movie and in this trailer shows the typical romance between Bond and a woman who could be on the enemy side. This trailer shows us a small glimpse of the villain and the organisation he works for. In one scene we see the enemy sitting at a table with Bond in a crowd hidden. We aren't able to see the villains face due to him being in the shadows and so this shows how mysterious this enemy is, as he knows Bond is in the audience, this shows how the villain has a upper hand on the secret agent which can be unusual.

This trailer has a wide range of intense music. The music runs throughout the trailer, however when Bond makes a humorous comment the music cuts off so the 'joke' is clear. The trailer also contains the typical James Bond theme tune when he is in combat or in a significant car chase.
