The music video starts with a establishing shot of the beach and then pans to the left, the for the rest of the music video its a tracking shot of the main singer also the lyrics 'look at the stars' in the sky the are stars. Also we get the impression that he is telling a love story by the way he smiles and the way he acts in video also at one point he stops because of the lyrics then starts running towards the camera
there is a suggestion of a sun rise, the fact that he is ignoring it and is focused on the camera suggests that the person he is singing to is more interesting than it, also sun rise symbolises change, after the sun rising the song and his facial expression get sadder, which suggests the change being a break up. also the fact he is singing about the stars and the stars arent there anymore. because it is now morning.
ReplyDeleteThere is a direct mode of address as he is singing towards the camera, creating a link with the audience. This is also a typical aspect of music videos. However this music video does not have any narrative development along side, allowing the audience to completely focus of the lyrics. The only aspect which could possibly be the narrative development is the sky turning from dark to light, as this shows a chain of events happening occurring throughout the video.
