The media appeal to an audience can vary according to the different types of audience as well as different types of media.The TV Show Game of Thrones for example will appeal to to a certain type of audience compared to other media texts. 

There are several appeals for Game of Thrones , for example the need for affiliation. In Game Of Thrones there are several fictional families that are the focus of the story, The Stark's The Lannister's, The Targaryen/ Dothraki and many more. This allows for the audience to pick which house that they support the most in the narrative. There are many different merchandise products which further the involvement with the show. The families in the show are not would be considered normal and are constantly under threat from others. For example The Stark's, the family is split up after a disaster and leads to several of the younger children escaping and exploring on their own. This would provoke the need to nurture as some of the children are only young and can parents in the audience may feel the need to want to protect these characters during and after what they face.
