media-Step Brothers review
This hit comedy is hilarious and dare i say it, one of Ferrels best films to date. The storyline itself is rather simple, two immature 40-year olds who still live at home with their parents, Ferrels character Brennan lives with his mum and Reilly's character lives with his dad, are forced to move in together as their mum and dad get married and move in together and the new step brothers don't hide the fact that they hate each other!
The overgrown teenagers really do act like they are 14 by getting up to all sorts of crazy antics such as fighting on their front lawn, burying each other alive and drawing crude things on each others heads, just to name a few. These actions don't sit well with Robert and Nancy (their parents) and results in them not being able to watch tv for a week. They act like teenagers and they are treated like teenagers. However the step brothers soon put their differences aside and instead bond over their hatred of Brennan's intelligent, successful brother, Derek. Derek is everything Brennan isn't, he has his own family, job and career. Dale takes an immediate dislike in Derek's arrogance therefore sparking a friendship between both Dale and Brennan.
This film offers lots of cringe-worth moments but also a lot of laugh out loud moments. You feel almost as if you know both Dale and Brennan personally as you go through their crazy journey of hating each other to being the best of friends. You follow them as they go through both the good times and the bad and really feel for them both as characters. Its a must see movie thats sure to make you laugh!
