Artist: Meek Mill ft Nicki Minaj & Chris Brown

Song: All Eyes On You

Narrative:

The song demonstrates a love between two people that is inseparable and unbreakable. There is no direct storyline to this video, just both rappers, Nicki and Meek, portraying their love for one another as they are engaged in reality. Their love is highlighted through public displays of affection throughout the video. The narrative to this video is to show that a relationship can survive and evolve despite both persons being famous and the centre of attention. Though both Meek and Nicki have been under the microscope under intense scrutiny for their relationship, they still remain strong and committed to one another. The title of the song "All eyes on you" is also conveyed as a phrase of affection for one another. Meaning that although they are both famous and deeply idolised throughout their fan base, they still only have eyes for each other and the industry and pressure cannot stop or break that. It can also be interpreted in the video to mean that although the whole world is watching them and everybody's eyes is on their relationship, they remain unbothered and unaffected. Once again, this is conveyed by their intimacy shown in the video that shows how much they love each other.

Visuals:

The mise-en-scene in this video consists of the expensive lifestyle that comes with being a successful rapper. Whether it be set in a luxorious mansion or in the VIP section in an LA club, their success and wealth is heavily magnified. Nicki spends the majority of the video in a private pool in a bikini, showing her fake breast and bum implants. As it is a known fact that Nicki isn't shy of cosmetic surgery, flaunting her implants and envied body is just another example of her wealth. Meek's lifestyle is also conveyed as his rapping career makes his iconic gold chains, watches and sunglasses shine. Chris Brown is also dressed head to toe in designer gear. Editing is used to convey Meek and Nicki's relationship as a montage is used near the end of a handful of intimate moments between them both. The setting is relevant in this video as although it's only either in a club or their home, this means that they are a team both at home and at a party, where many are not as faithful or loyal. Crosscutting, fade to black and fading out is used editing to cut from scene to scene, whether it be to cut back to a scene or fading out a montage.

Conventions:

This is a very conventional video for the rap genre. Firstly, the flaunting of the wealth with the expensive houses and cars connotes their success in life. The use of Nicki as a model is also conventional as most rap videos include young girls in little clothing to suggest the rappers can attract girls. Singing to the camera solo is also a convention of a mainstream rap video as Chris Brown, Meek and Nicki wish to appear somewhat intimidating to the audience.
