MAGIC! - Rude

Rude by MAGIC! would appeal to someone who is a fan of Bob Marley and other Reggae artists as there music very much follow this theme.

The video shows how in certain situations the girls father will dislike the boyfriend and how it can cause problems most effectively in relationships. The video therefore revolves around the lead singers mission to get his girl and get her fathers blessing so he can marry her. The video also doesn't show if he ever gets the blessing so we as the audience are left with what is almost a cliffhanger. On the whole its a bit of a relatable video to some people.

The video uses a lot of close ups for emotion and to gain a personal relationship with the audience. There is also a use of mid ranges to mostly show the bands dancing and singing. The video runs a parallel with the song lyrics as the lyrics almost describe each action the band does. Theres a use of shaky cam too, mainly to fit in with the whole Reggae feel of the song to make it quite wavy. This is quite unique to the video as shaky camera is usually put down to a lack of skill when holding the camera.
