Artist- björk
Song- it's oh so quiet
Genre- electronic/ dance

Visuals/mise-en-scene
The speed of the song is changed through the course of the video to support the lyric change and the beat of the song.  Slow motion is used during parts of the song which are mellow with the actors within the videos actions being quite intricate and slow where as there is a chance in dynamics in the fast pace dance scene where the speed of the music is increased and the actors start to move round more frantically to match the new set tone of the piece. At the very end of the video there is a a big close up on the artist 'shushing' to suggest that she has let the audience into a secret how love really is but doesn't want anyone else to know which creates a relationship between the audience and the artist as they feel like it is exclusive to them. The focus is shifted on the artists face and the background with the dancers is blurred to ensure that the main focus is on the artist her self.

Narrative-
Despite its upbeat tempo and its rather eccentric background there is a clear story to the song which is shown through the lyrics and is reenforced by the visuals.  When the music is slow it shows how calm and quiet life is when your on your own and not in a relationship. Everything is peaceful and calm shown through the use of slow motion.  However when you fall in love your life completely changes and becomes faster and more exciting with every sort of activity you could ever imagine. Your emotions will also be completely changed and there will be a different pace to your life.  This will then change and go back to the Mundane Boring life style once you get out of the relationship

Conventional/unconventional-
Conventional-
.performance to camera
. The use of background dancers

Unconventional-
.The use of two completely different scenes to the music video which is rather confusing and could potentially put off the audience. Despite this it could necessarily be good for the artist as it stands out to the Audience because it is so different, therefore meaning it will be more memorable and this could be a talking point for people.

What works well/doesn't-
Well-
Is a rather eccentric way of exploring the idea of love and isn't something that has been done before.
Doesn't-
The confusing narrative is rather strange and might not appeal to everyone, at a segmented audience
