Narrative
The video is about a singer who wants to kill his old/former persona, perhaps suggesting that he's reinvented himself for his new album, by suffocating himself, getting a new hairstyle and smashing platinum records. He walks round the house with a glow up cross this could represent his religion.

Conventional/unconventional
This video is very unconventional and this is expected out of The Weeknds videos as he is a very creative and original artist so in some way this is conventional to his audience as it is very typical for the Weeknd to do strange music videos. There are some conventional parts such as the scenes were he is miming his lyrics and the fact that the setting is in a fancy mansion, this is typical of music videos.

Visuals
The lighting is rather dark and eery, this fits in with the first scenes of the video were he gets suffocated by his new self. Even though the camera stays still it jumps from scene to scene rather quick.
