This cover is presenting the artist Rihanna she has a grungy, dark aesthetic which indicates what type of music is on the album which shows a change because previous albums by her have been colourful so this contrasts against this one as this one is potentially showing a different side to her. Rihanna's hair and makeup has a careless approach as she goes against the stereotypical hair style for a girl which is long done hair, here is presented as edgy as the hair is short and a dark colour. The hand written words on her body show effortless and personal aspect of the album. She has a darker colour skin so the white writing is bold. There is a black scribble which is over her chest which reads 'Unapologetic' which is the name of the album so it is significant as its the boldest piece of writing.
