The genre i chose to do is magazine shows. Magazine shows are regularly scheduled entertainment style news programs consisting of several short segments in which various subjects of current interest are examined, usually in more detail than on a regular newscast. Examples of magazine shows are programmes like; this morning, the one show etc.

I am going to look at the one show as it fits the genre. The one show is a BBC television magazine and chat show programme. Its screened at the same time every week night at 7pm. They film both in the studio and on location or filmed through segments.

This clips shows what the one show is about, it shows a segment on location, in this segment it has an interview with an expert (Dr Bill Frankland) as well as an interview on the sofa with Andrew Lloyd Webber. This shows the one show to be not just a news show but debatably entertaining as well. It shows that show reports on stories that are both lighthearted and tragic.
