I believe that the typical consumer of Teen Vogue, would be a female aged 13-19. As this is such a young age, they would tend to be still in either school or college. Their location would tend to be Westernized countries, such as America or the United Kingdom. I believe it would be generally America, as this is where the magazine is published, and a lot of the topics featured in the magazine generally are American-orientated.
Lifestyle Categories
The two lifestyle categories I believe would be most interested in Teen Vogue, would be;
Egoists – these kind of people want to make the most out of themselves. They would hugely believe in things such as beauty, fashion and celebrity culture. They would enjoy reading about these kind of topics because they in some ways could relate to them, and find them informative in their own lifestyles.
Trendies – this lifestyle category focuses on people to seek the admiration of their peer group. People who read Teen Vogue would be hugely interested in self-image. They would want people to find them somewhat attractive or interesting, and by reading things based on fashion or beauty-tips, they would hope to achieve this.
Young and Rubicam’s 4C’s
The Aspirer – I believe that a reader of Teen Vogue would be best fitted to this audience type. They aspire status and recognition, and Teen Vogue, being as elite and as stylish as it is, would provide them exactly this. They long for status, and by making themselves look better, they would believe that they were able to achieve this.
Income/Status Model
As the main audience for Teen Vogue would generally be the younger audience, they would specifically have an income. The magazine is relatively cheap to buy, meaning that most people would be able to access it. You can buy it from any high-street store selling magazines, and so would not be hard to find.
