Audience Classification

a)
The Mainstreamer
As the name suggest these are mainstream of society. They live for the well established but good-valued brands. Security is of paramount to these people. There daily routine is fundamental therefore they watch a fundamental TV channel list. Everyday at a certain time they will sit down within a secure household and watch a programme on daily routine such as soap operas and drama series. I believe the mainstream is the biggest group therefore the soaps such as Coronation Street has a huge fan base.

The Aspirer

The aspirers are the people that strive to look good. They are particularly confident but value other people’s opinions highly. Shows such as 90210 and Top Boy are the best examples of aspirer TV shows. They both involve groups of friends who enjoy and thrive on banter. They both try to out-do each other with regards to fashion, appearance and charisma. There core need in life is status.

The Explorer

These people look out for challenges and discoveries. They seek out new frontiers. Websites like tumblr can fulfil their need of discovery as Tumblr, in blog form, is used by users to post about new bands, films and songs. The explorer will look out for new bands and genetically want to find out more about them. They react to brands that offer new sensations so therefore bands that offer them the feeling of being original.

The Succeeder

The Succeeder is very strong-minded. They have self-confidence therefore show such as ‘I’m a celeb…’ would suit them very well. In ‘I’m a celeb…’ they are required to stand out from the rest of the contestants using techniques such as being the so called “mum” of the group or the “chef”. They tend to take on roles like these to portray how they need space, responsibility and to be well organised. Each contestant on this shows has the ultimate goal of becoming the winner therefore they seek out the best and become quite competitive and nearly aggressive about losing and winning in the trials.

These categories are a legit method but I don’t believe it the most sufficient as to categories billions of people into 7 groups is beyond impossible. There are going to be some crossovers like aspirers also fitting into Succeeders and so on. Many hiccups can occur but the vast majority of people can at least be designated into these groups.

He enjoys his jobs therefore puts every ounce of pride into the lyric and records that he produces. He represents the Succeeder as how he contains the goal to become famous and to do so he is willing to use his self confidence to his advantage. He is also an Explorer because he is constantly on the look-out for new talent, new mixes and beats.
