Media Diary Week 3
Josh Lee-Dawson
For the 4C's model I believe that Grand Theft Auto V would
suit The Mainstreamer perfectly as everyone around the world is buying this
game and so to stay in the conversation and feel like they have security they
have to buy it as without it they feel left out and out of the group as they
cannot join in with the conversations as they would not know anything about it
so to make sure they stay in the group of friends which are main streamers this
game is needed. For the Income/Status model I believe it is bought by A-E and
the reason I believe this is because the people in these classes usually have a
little bit of money and for people Grand Theft Auto is liked all across the
world and there is always someone that has a lot of money or not a lot of money
that wants this media text so I believe it is trying to represent the A-E
income/status. For the Lifestyle category I believe the Groupies would buy this
media text I believe this as the Groupie just wants to fit in with everyone
else and for two weeks anyway everyone will be talking about this media text as
this is a massive sequel to the biggest franchise in the world. So for a couple
of weeks if the groupie did not fit in already they can stay in touch with
everyone and will not feel insecure and will feel safe as that person and
everyone else will be talking about the same thing. The final model is audience
profiling and in this I believe that the age-group that would play this is 18
year olds and the gender being Men and I believe this as men and 18 year olds
usually really love violence , earning loads of money, driving expensive cars
things like that in video games. So a lot of 18 year olds will buy this to make
sure they can enjoy these luxuries and do things only possible for people
without a lot of money in video games like buying planes, flying helicopters.
