Oxfam live your life change your world
Ideologies
This advert is trying to get the younger generation to sign petitions to help save their future by saying it only takes one minute and that nothing will be taken out of your day.
Visual and Narrative techniques
In this advert they are makng the advert to look like a lyric music video so that the advert is able to relate to younger people and make them relate to it and also it is very colourful to tell the people watching the advert that signing the petition is will mmake for a bright fututre were they can enjoy their lives and have succesful lives. Also they are putting things in the video that relate to what the younger generation do so that they are able to relate. That is why we are given the message signals just before something important comes up this advdert is all about trying to get the younger generation invloved with the caheirty.
Advertsing techniques
This advert is giving us self-actulisation to encourage us to help out oxfam and sigh the petition this is because this advert is making us realise that us as the public actually have some power in the world to change things and it tells us that if we all take a minute to sign a petition that we could put pressure on the world leaders and actually help change the world for the better. Also this advert gives us self-esteem because it makes the younger people feel like they actually have a say in the worlds future so they will be encouraged to actually want to sign the petition this can also go with self actualisation. This advert also satisfies need for prominence because it gives us a high social status as it is saying we have the chance to call the shots and mkae the world leaders what we think meaning that with that chance we are not going to say no. The advert makes it persobnal to the viewer by adding the words "you" and "your" meaning that we feel like the advert is talking to us so we want to ineract back.
What works what doesn't
I believe trying to advertise to the younger public is a good idea because hardly anyone gives them responsibility and a choice and this advert does and with the younger population being big they havwe tried to tap in again those supporters. But this advert alienates the older audience that are not into partying and the internet or just don't understand those things what so ever meaning that the older public will probably not buy into this advert 50 and older. So I will not try and alienate any of the public in my advert so that it is accesssible to as many people as possible.
I will try and make my advert personal because I know I will be able to convince more people to buy into it then because the audience will think it is personal to them this is one idead I really liked out of this advert which I will really want ot use.
