In the trailer for White house down A father called John Cale of a 14 year old daughter emily goes to the white house for an interview to get into the secret service but fails but there is a tour around the white house so to make his daughter happy he takes her o the tours but at the same time the white house gets attacked by terrorists and Jon Cale's daughter is missing in the white house so instead of just getting the president and escaping his daughter forces him to go through the movie to find her we never learn much about the daughter about from she likes the white house and she he John Cale's daughter so that is why I believe she is a stock character.

Dexter season 4 trailer

In this trailer Dexter is a cop who is also a serial killer and he is keeping it a secret so he does not get caught but he is a different type of serial killer he only murders people that have killed innocent people and have gotten away with it and in this trailer that main serial killer kills a woman in a bath tub we have not learnt anything about this character all we know is she lives in a house and got murdered in that house now she is a stock character because that makes Dexter want to find this person before the police does to make sure this serial killer gets the outcome which he deserves so this one stock character inspires the main protagonist for one whole season. But the thing is a women have been stereotyped here because

This music video is an example of anti-traditional women and this is because in this music video she is the leader of a biker gang and she dominates every man that is around her making sure they follow her rules so that she cannot get taken of advantage of also she does not really care about looking like a traditional woman she dresses the way she wants and likes it because she exerts what she is she does not let other people stop her.

Cosmopolitan

In the Cosmopolitan magazines they try to make sure they are different than your typical women magazines and try to give control back to the women and try and be anti-traditional and give the women the dominance instead of men having it all the time. They do this by trying to make it the equivalent to the lads mags but just for women. They do this by talking about subjects that would usually be taboo for women magazines for example for sex they try to give suggestions of have to make your sex life better and how they will be able assert the dominance of the men. This is all anti-traditional because they try not to be stereotypical but try to actually make women feel like the women they want to be and this is done by the magazine actually feeling like it is being written by women.

In this trailer there are about 4 young girls going around messing about being youthful girls but at the same time they are wearing scantily clad outfits to show off their good bodies and this helps attract male audiences to the movies because they know that men are attracted by these women in these type of outfits and they have lot of scenes in the trailer so that the male gaze comes into the play.

The last of us

In the game The last of us there are two main characters in the video game and they are Joel and a 14 year old teenager called Ellie and in this game there has been an zombie out break of sorts and ten years later this girl Ellie is bitten but it turns out she is immune to the disease so Joel and Ellie are trying to get to a faction called the fireflies who will be able to get a cure from her. Along the way they face a lot of zombies and instead of Ellie being stereotyped as a little girl that just wants to runaway and scream she stays with Joel and helps fend the zombies off so that they both have a good chance of living. So Ellie is represented as a character who is strong, brave, courages she even has a little bit off attitude showing she is not going to stand back and be passive this character does not get idolised for being a girl instead it is celebrated maybe this game is one big step for women in the media getting a lot more active role in the media
