Armani Advert Analysis

The first thing I notice about the advert is the photographic composition. For example, the Armani advert gives us a sense of love and romance between the couple, due to the effect of it being black and white. Furthermore, the photographic use of light and shade shows contrast between the shapes, which creates mood and tone.

The Celebrity status of the could advertising the product has an effect on the people buying. Nowadays, people tend to base what they buy on the celebrity who is modeling it. In this case, David and Victoria Beckham are possibly the most famous couple, making them the right people to do the advertising. David Beckham represents wealth and success, where as his wife, Victoria Beckham, is respected in the fashion industry. Some people may be un aware, and not recognize their faces, however could know their names, so by printing their names onto the advert, it makes the product appeal to a wider audience. The Beckham family can be seen as iconic when it comes to fashion, so people will look up to them doing the advert, and will be willing to buy the products which they promote. It gives the image that if you're to buy the product, you will be seen as being on their level, and as stylish as them. What's more, it will make people believe that wearing the product can make them feel rich and glamorous. Using this couple will attract more customers, and just by them promoting the product, it makes the brand look more expensive than it is.

The advert is all about feeling comfortable in what you wear, and in your own skin, which can be shown throught the body language of the couple. For example Victoria's facial expression can be seen as seductive/sexual, as she is not looking directly at the camera, a very effective way to promote feeling confident with the product. Acting in a sexual manor can also help with promotion, as it shows a sense of passion for it.

The main connotations with the advert is fame and money. Whilst we can see how they make a good couple, Victoria Beckham for example, can symbolize fashion, showing how she individually is a good choice for the advert.
