The film opens up with an overview of a city during the day. It looks very casual, and has a sense of normality about it, suggesting that there are a variety of storylines taking place in it. However, the camera moves in, and focuses through a window, where we meet two main characters, Marion and Sam. The fact that the camera shows an overview of the city before making contact with Sam and Marion, shows that anybody's life could be influenced like in the film, at any time, since we're given the feeling of a random selection by the camera.
Psycho leads me to believing that the narration of the film is restricted, due to the idea that we identify with Marion, despite everything she does wrong, as she takes control of the narrative. She's the first character we see on screen, and we connect with her through watching her, and seeing through her perspectives in Point Of View shots. Marion's death occurs at around 47 minutes into the film, however throughout the first 47 minutes, the story focuses on what she does, and we spend the majority of the time looking at her face, and more specifically into her eyes due to her being in every scene. As we see Marion in mostly Close-Up shots, for example when she's driving in her car, the audience are drawn to her eyes. They show as deer-like, being the main feature on her face. It's believed that you can tell a person's feelings, and thoughts from what their eyes are showing, and we can see a lot of Panic and confusion occurring in hers throughout the Close-Up shots.
We sympathize with Marion throughout the plot, because although she stole the money from Cassidy, she done it for love so she could be with Sam. Unusually, as an audience, Hitchcock puts us in the position to identify with the 'criminal' Marion, rather than the 'victim' Cassidy. This stems from our perceptions of Cassidy, as he's portrayed as arrogant, and seems to be vulgar about money. Furthermore, the audience is given the information that he is a crook, and so is in no better of a position than Marion. Sam is in debt and they can't marry, so Marion takes the money in honor of him and their marriage. This idea can be perceived as Marion being the Hero character, whilst Sam leaves all the hard work for her to do.
After stealing the money, Marion creates an excuse and leaves in her car, where she then makes her way to the apartment, one of the first scenes we're introduced to. The camera focuses on the woman where she seems to be panicked, and rapidly packs a suitcase. We begin to question what she's doing, before the camera moves towards the money in her purse. This gives the impression that what's about to happen, is going to be based around her stealing the money. As the film moves on, we see Marion looking straight into the camera as she sits in her car, and is accompanied by voice-overs. Through this, we can not only hear her thoughts, but also the voices of other characters such as Cassidy. These voices aren't what the characters have said, but what she thinks they'd be saying at that current time, if they knew what she was doing. I interpret this as being her conscience telling her what's right, even though she continues to ignore it on a variety of occasions. This is just one part of the film which represents the theme of right Vs wrong. Tension is created, because one of the voice overs shows Marion imagining Cassidy taking a violent revenge against her. Also, from this moment on, Marion 'goes on the run', facing certain obstacles, such as the weather, and the police officer, creating tension and suspense, as the audience don't know what's going to happen next.
"The Shower Scene" is a well known scene in thriller films. People can recognise it by the ear-piercing, high pitched music, and flashes of constant camera angles when the main character is being murdered. Marion first decides to get a shower, to clean up, and to think about returning the money, listening to her conscience. This action suggests that she is washing away the guilt, and removing any anxiety. During the murder of Marion, there are a variety of camera angles, types, and shots. They're all randomly placed, with no order to them, causing the audience to become disorientated, and put in a helpless position, with the camera constantly changing and moving. The audience feel sympathy for Marion, as she's the only character who they've really connected and identified with. As well as being confused, and shocked, they're also alienated, due to the feeling of being alone without Marion to tell the story, and are forced to question who's going to tell the story now. Meanwhile, the next character we come across is Norman, the manager of the motel. As an audience, Hitchcock forces us to identify with Norman, although while doing this, he is disposing of a corpse. With an unexpected ending to the film, I personally didn't realize it was Norman who sub-concisely murdered Marion.

Genre Essay - Star Wars
For this essay, I'm going to analyze the movie Trailer for Star Wars, in relation to it's characteristics of genre. I've decided to pick this film trailer due to the fact that I've never seen the film. We can tell from the trailer , that this film is about war and conflict by two opposing sides, however being set in another dimension. This is known and expressed as being far, far away in a distant past. This itself suggests the films genre as being somewhat fictional. The Music, characters and overall atmosphere of the film also helps to exaggerate this as being Science Fiction/Fantasy.
As Soon as the trailer begins, we're introduced to the setting of Space, with a voice over (including the dialogue of "somewhere in space" and "unlike anything on your planet"), and strong, orchestral music. Each of these things indicate to us that the genre of this film is Science Fiction. We can also see spaceships flying through space, and hear loud explosions, suggesting that the story is about war or conflict. As well as Sci-Fi, we can also see that the genre of Fantasy is present. This is shown through strange creatures and unlikely characters, as well as robots and Aliens. The opening narrative expresses how the film is set "lightyears ahead of it's time" as well as being "somewhere in space", giving indications of a Science Fiction film, before we've even seen the full trailer. The most obvious aspect of the film being a science fiction, would be this voice-over through the trailer, and the setting of space. In addition to this, by using orchestral music behind the narration, it allows the film to seem more dramatic, and builds tension which is required to expand on the idea of conflict. Also, the Sound effects used whilst Spaceships are flying past, adds to the characteristics of this being a Science Fiction Genre. The Star Wars trailer doesn't use bright colours, which can suggest a running theme of intensity throughout.
The characters clothing suggests the genre of Science Fiction/Fantasy, due to the main characters wearing spacesuits and cloaks, obvious choices for this particular genre. Furthermore, Props such as Lazar guns, and lightsabers are used in the trailer. These props are a typical for a science-fiction film, in comparison to a family or comedy film, making it more obvious of the genre. Furthermore, the advance in technology compared to planet earth, can expand the idea that there's more going on in outerspace, the film trailer presenting this idea well. In contrast to the obvious conventions of the trailer, another genre which might have influenced the proceeding of the film is the Western Genre. Having this as part of the film, makes it more suprising, and differentiates it to other Science Fiction films. The use of guns and 'cowboy-like' costumes seem to appear throughout Star Wars movie. Having said this Western would probably not be classed as an over-ruling genre for this film. Most audience members would want their expectations to be met, however by challenging their expectations and including this western theme, it allows the film to be more appealing. From this trailer and the props used, I gathered that the film is about conflict from two different sides, one being good, and the other being Evil. This becomes obvious, as one character (Jedi) is a representation of good, in comparison to being in conflict with their evil counterpart. This is the main plot of the movie, and the trailer manages to express the idea well. Iconography would be shown through the moment our 'Hero' escapes with the 'princess'. This is followed by various moments of war and betrayal, which may be seen as iconography of a science fiction film.
There are various themes shown by just watching the trailer. For example, the theme of rebellion is announced, but by presenting the characters working together, we're given the ideologies of Friendship, and team work. Also, Love could be considered a theme, due to the idea of the boy rescuing the girl, showing that it's important to protect what you love, whether that's friends, or their world, linking in with the theme of Pride, and fighting for justice. Binary Oppositions are also present in the trailer for this film, such as; Good VS. Evil, Right VS. Wrong, Hero VS. Villain, Trust VS. Betrayal, and the idea of Love VS. War.

Media Diary Week 6.
The text I'm going to Analyze in relation to my 'guilty pleasure', is going to be Americas Next Top Model. This text is a TV series, about a competition, in which women from all over the U.S. compete, in honor of being America's next "it girl" in the modeling world. The main host of the show is Tyra Banks, who herself is a major inspiration in the modeling industry. The target audience for this series would defiantly be The Aspirer. This is due to their core need in life being status, and the idea that image counts. Recently, America's Next Top Model has became a program where viewers and consumers can get involved, and message the contestants on why they are their favorites, or criticize them about their participation in the show. Because of this, I think the TV show suits the Aspirers, hence them being materialistic, acquisitive people, who may be driven by other peoples perceptions of them, rather than their own values.
I would class myself as being part of The Mainstream category, so due to this, I think by watching Americas Next Top Model, it seems like a media text I wouldn't usually consume. Normally, I consume media texts such as Fantasy, Drama, and Mystery, so this is something I wouldn't watch if I didn't want to try something new. Also, when it comes to consuming Media texts, I think I could be classed as an Explorer. I would base this on the fact that I like to try out new ideas an experiences. For example, most people will consume the same series/films as others, however I find it more interesting to watch things like Kyle XY or Lost, which are less known in a sense, and I can form my own opinion, instead of hearing what other people think about it first.
This text intends to bring out the fact that image is important, and as a viewer, I watch the show and consume with a preferred reading, enjoying the show for what it is. I think that it's important to embrace the way you look, and the show enforces that, but also consists of tips and help to bring out the best, which I agree with.
I think this show makes me question and challenge which of the '4C's' groups I fit into. After watching Americas Next Top Model, I have realized that I find it important to look good, and I personally believe that other people shouldn't tell us how to look, but their input can be important on how to improve. When referring to 'Maslows Hierarchy Of Needs', the show appeals to my our Esteem needs, in relation to confidence based on the good opinions of others, admiration, self-worth/acceptance, and self-confidence. Tyra Banks is an inspirational woman, so having her as a main host on the show also appeals to me when watching the program.

Media Diary Week 5.

This film uses the idea of Personal Identity, due to the age of the characters. The main characters are more or less the same age as a consumer of this text, therefore the viewers are likely to identify with this. Also, the main character is played by a well-known actress/singer named Selena Gomez. By involving her in the film, and putting her in the spotlight, making her the main focus, it allows people like her fans to relate with her. Many people look up to her, and some people might be able to identify themselves with her as a person. With her character in the film being an ordinary girl with dreams to go to Paris, I myself was able to personally relate to this, feeling more of a connection to the film, and making me more interested in watching it. I think it helps that there are a lot of close-ups in the romantic scenes, as it helps us connect with the characters and interoperate their emotions better, just as the medium-long shot makes us feel like we're there with the characters.
Monte Carlo is going to be used least as a source of information. However, having said this, throughout being in Paris the main characters are given information about the City, therefore people watching also gain this information. We also receive information on how Paris and Monte Carlo look, as we are given an insight whilst they visit the City's. Although it's only partly used for information, it's main use is to entertain. Monte Carlo uses humor in the film, therefore entertaining people by making them laugh. Furthermore, the suspense of romance in the film keeps people on the edge of their seats, and can cause them to be entertained this way. People may find it entertaining, because they can watching it at any point of the day. For example, Horror movies are most likely going to be watched at night time, where as this film provides us with the freedom to watch it whenever and where ever we want. By creating this film this way, it presents the idea of escapism, so anyone can watch it for whatever reason.
This film can be used for social interaction. It can be the main topic of conversation between people who've all consumed the text, or it can be used to find people who might have similar interests and things in common with you. After watching Monte Carlo, I found that not many people had seen the film. This gave me the chance to use it for a reason to socialize, and advise/recommend this to people who may be interested in watching it.

People may be able to relate to this film, giving a sense of personal identity. Personally, I can relate to the setting of the school, however other people watching might be able to personally relate. The main characters of the film are the 'outcasts', with some of them having different sexualities, or different backgrounds.
The main reason for the existence for this film, is for entertainment. It's less likely going to be used for Information, as it doesn't inform us on anything. Like Monte Carlo, this film can be watched at any time, and can be used in a sense of escapism, unlike Horror films, which are most likely to be watched when it's dark to create more of an atmosphere.
The Perks Of Being a Wallflower is quite a popular film amongst teenagers, so it's likely to be used as a source of conversation, and gives people a chance to socialize, meaning the idea of social interaction is relevant to this film.
Reception Theory.
The text 'UP' is a Disney Pixar film, which is based around Adventure, Animation, and Comedy. It's about a boy who grows up with a girl, and they end up marrying each other, with a dream to live across the world with a beautiful view. When his wife dies, he is determined to get to their chosen destination, facing adventure along the way. The target audience for this show would be children, or it be a family move, and would be categories as a Mainstreamer, with Disney Pixar being a trusted family brand.
Through this film, I think the encoders want to achieve the purpose of fulfilling the ideology that it's important to follow your dreams. Also, within the film, there are ideologies that you should put other people before yourself, as he does for his wife, and a boy who is introduced part way through the film. It tells us that you should always care for others, with the example being that he goes out of his way to save the boy in the film, and the dog. Another ideology that could be interpreted through this film, is that you shouldn't take yourself too seriously. I think with the man growing old quickly through the film, gives the impression that life is short, and instead of being grumpy, as the man is presented at first, we should just enjoy what we have.
Some people might understand the ideologies being portrayed in this film, however could reject them. They might believe that there isn't always going to be a happy ending, and that we should put ourselves, and our own safety first. This could be due to upbringing, and how their life has been up to the point of watching this. Also, society's influences can have an affect on how someone might decode a text, as well as their personal experiences. They could've possibly been through something, and not believe in the idea of a happy ending, or that life can be enjoyed.
Somebody's Situated Culture might cause them into taking a negotiated reading. Whilst consuming this film, the audience member might be doing other things, or something could be distracting in the background, causing them to be less involved with the text, and not be able to full interpret what has been encoded. Furthermore, somebody could be watching this film with other people, and understand it differently to how they did when they first watched it.
The film 'Up' consists of existing for entertainment. It's a children's film, so it's main intentions are to entertain children of a young age. It uses humor to entertain, with comedy throughout, including the idea of a talking dog, an oversized bird, and a young boy, appealing to the target audience. Personal Identification can come into play here, as people may be able to connect with the characters. Children watching this film might feel like they can relate to the young boy, as he is fun, and adventurous. Also, they might see an older relative, in the way the boy sees the old man, as being grumpy, but also loving and caring.

Media Diary Week 4
The media text I'm going to write about, is a TV series called 'Kyle XY'. It's had an impact in my life when it comes to my views on things, and my thoughts intellectually.
This series changed my habits of the Media I consume, because before I considered watching this series, I would only really watch Comedy and Romance films. However, once I had watched an episode of this, I realized how interesting this genre of film could be, and have since watched many more Drama/Mystery/Sci-Fi films and series. After I finished watching all the seasons, I was more enthusiastic when it came to approaching films of genres I'm less likely to find interesting. Strangely, all the science and mathematics included in 'Kyle XY' made me want to become better at these subjects. For example, the science-fiction side of the film really interested me, more than any science lessons I've taken part in.
At the end of every episode (and subtly throughout) there were messages relating to life, and how we should live without worries, and just be ourselves. There would also be a part at the end, which would include an inspiring quote, relating to the episode, but I also found it good advice to think about.
There's romance included throughout this series, and parts throughout that refer to the 'real world' rather than the story line of the episodes. Due to this, I think it can appeal to a wider audience, and have an impact on even more people. I believe that most people will only consider watching this if they're only interested in this genre of film, even though I tried it, and would recommend it for anyone to try. It continues to affect me personally, because it's inspired me to watch more films like this one.
Media Diary3: VOGUE
When it comes to defining an audience by the Income and Stautus model, I think VOGUE would come around the C1/B Category. I would say this becuase after analysing the front cover. i found the the price wasn't too high, but it's not cheap either. There are other fashion magazines, which cost a lot more, so i think this catergory is suitable for the magazine.
Personally I think VOGUE aims the magazine towards girls/women around the ages of 16+. They're more likely to be influenced by the fashion ideas which are printed on the cover, and inside on the pages. The audience members probably have high standards when it comes to their own personal image, and the image of the people they associate with.
After looking through Young And Rubicms 4C'S, I decided that the aspirer would be most suitable for reader of this magazine. This would be due to their need in life for status, and thir view, that image counts. The model on the cover of the VOGUE magazine is Cara delevigne, who is a popular fashion model amongst teenagers. Vogue is one of the mst inspiring magazines for this selection of people, as it includes everything thhey need to satisfy their want for materialistic values. Having Cara on the front of the magazine will bring in more people to the magazine, as she is a strong fashion icon.
Furthermore, of all the lifestyle categories, readers of VOGUE are most likely going to be categorised as Groupies and/or Trendies. This is suggested due to their desire to be accepted by others, and their need for the admiration of their peer group. I think VOGUE is suitable for these types of people, because they're more than likely to read the magazine in order to get fashion advice, and stay on top of the latest trends.

Defining/Classifying Audiences.
a) The Mainstream - The largest group withing the 4C'S, with the needs in like aimed towards security, are the people categorised as 'Mainstream'. If a daily routine is essential to your lifestyle, and you respond to family brands, then you're most likely under this category. An example of this would be the Disney Pixar Film, Monsters Inc. 2. I believe this film was created to entertain familys, which is what a Mainstream would want. This is a good example, becuase it's the second of a first Monsters inc. film to be created, which means if you enjoyed the first movie, you can trust the second is up to it's respected standards. Also, Disney Pixar is a well know family brand, which this group of people would aspire to, due to their core need in life being security, and the Family brand being trusted.
The Aspirer - If you're driven by other peoples views of you, rather than how you see your own values, and have a core need in life for Ststus, you're most probably an Aspirer. Aspirers respond to what other people may see as Superficial. For example, they look out for image, apperarence, persona, charisma and fashion, as well as the contents in a person. For these reasons, I thing the TV series America's Next Top Model would be a suitable choice to match their media needs. I have decided to pick this, because the programme is all about how to keep up with the latest trends, and how to look your best. It enourages them to be materialistic, and reminds them that image counts, with the programme involving perfect air-brushed models, which is everything an Aspirer would be about.
The Succeeder - This category of audience have a strong goal orientation, with tendency's to occupy positions of responsibility in life. From brands, they seek rewards, as well as the best, as they feel they deserve it. They strive for control in life, as this is their main need. Due to this, I believe business newspapers and magazines would be suitable. For example, 'Business Insider', because it includes information on how to make money, and gives information from other Business men. Expanding on the thoughts from other Business men, the succeeder will be able to relate to what's being said, therefore making the magazine more relatable.
The Explorer - In my opinion, I think that the Series 'Kyle XY' would be most appropriate for anyone involved in this category. The show isn't very popular, so with their main core need in life being discovery, it gives them a chance to try something new. The series was created with satisfied intentions of having a boy who isn't particularly human, forgetting his past, and goes on a journey to figure out who he is, with drama throughout. After watching this unique show myself, I think it's suited to this category, and if I was to recommend it to anyone, it would be to an Explorer. Furthermore, with their traits to seek difference, and be the first to try out new experiences, this is a excellent example, giving them sensations and an instant effect of satisfaction.
b) In my personal opinion, I think the idea of having society split into these seven gorups is very useful to help with the Media. Although people can fall under more than one category, It gives different Media texts a better idea at who to base their porducts towards. For example, the Vogue magazine is aimed towards The Aspirers, so having this catergory, and know that they're all about image and persona makes it easier for the magazine to develope and promote. Also, The Mainstream is accurate, as it represents the majority of society. This could be because most people nowadays are more than likely to follow the crowd, with a fear of individuality and standing out.
c) A popular programme which occurs on TV every weekend through the season of Autumn to Winter, would be The X-Factor. It is a Series where people can apply to audition on a show and sing, with hope to getting into the live shows near the end of the programme. For this reason, I think this would mainly be aimed towards teenagers around the ages of 16./17. I think the stereotypical view of this show would be a young teenager, with interests in Music. Of the Seven categories in the 4C's. I'd thnk they would belong under The Mainstream group, as they would more thank likely watch it with their family. Also, I'd think that the majority of viewers would be female, as males seem to be uninterested in this programme, and become bored of it very quickly.
d) Unsure of what category a viewer of 'Monsters Inc. 2' would fit in, I decided that they're be best labeled as a Drifter. This is mainly because they don't know what they want from life, and so by watching the film, they'll probably gain nothing from it other than entertainment. I think that anyone who watches 'America's Next Top Model' would be categorized as a Groupie or a Trendie. I based this on the fact that they show will give them ideas on how to be accepted by others, as well as the hope that they'd receive admiration from their peer group. Someone who reads 'Business Insider' is most likely going to also be a Cowboy, as well as a Succeeder, because by reading the magazine, they'll be given ideas on how to make money fast and easy, which is what they would want. Furthermore, I think that somebody who watches the Series 'Kyle XY' would fall into the category of being a Rebel. I would say this because with their need to have the world fit in with their idea of how it should be, the show provides them with a unique, different view of the world. Lastly, if someone was to watch The X-Factor, I also believe that they would be labeled as a Groupie. They would use the show to socialize, and fit in with the people around them who would've also watched the show, and be talking about it the next day.

Media Diary: Week Two
My Everything is a second album to be released by the American artist Ariana Grande. It followed after her first album Yours Truly was released in 2013. The artist herself describes it as 'an evolution' from her first album, taking her around 7 months to create it. She began writing recording the music in October 2013, finishing it in May of 2014. It was then released on the date of August 22nd in 2014. Ariana recorded her album in a variety of music studios, with her producer, and Music label Republic.
This genre of music is described as Pop/R&B, with a purpose to entertain an audience with interest in this style of music. The target audience would be anyone interested in this style of music, but I would personally say it's targeted at teenagers aged 15-17, even though I believe any age group could enjoy this media text.
Throughout this Album, Ariana has released two singles. These include her lead single Problem featuring Iggy Azalea, as well as her second single Break Free featuring the music producer Zedd. Her album consists of 15 tracks, including one which is an Intro, and she is planning to release the song Love Me Harder on the 30th of September.
Personally, this is the genre of music I'm interested in, so after a friend recommending Ariana Grande's first album to me, I felt like it would be beneficial to listen to her second album. I was more pleased listening to her second album, because it seems more advance and individual compared to her first album. Listening to this album, I think people would have different responses, according to their personal interests and music taste. For example, someone who listens to heavy metal or rock music is less likely to listen to enjoy this album compared to a person who enjoys pop and R&B music.
In order to consume this text, people could simply listen to this music if they need something to listen to, or if they are doing work with the album on in the background. Songs coming from the album can also be heard on the radio, so a lot of people will probably hear it from there.
Armani Advert Analysis
The first thing I notice about the advert is the photographic composition. For example, the Armani advert gives us a sense of love and romance between the couple, due to the effect of it being black and white. Furthermore, the photographic use of light and shade shows contrast between the shapes, which creates mood and tone.
The Celebrity status of the could advertising the product has an effect on the people buying. Nowadays, people tend to base what they buy on the celebrity who is modeling it. In this case, David and Victoria Beckham are possibly the most famous couple, making them the right people to do the advertising. David Beckham represents wealth and success, where as his wife, Victoria Beckham, is respected in the fashion industry. Some people may be un aware, and not recognize their faces, however could know their names, so by printing their names onto the advert, it makes the product appeal to a wider audience. The Beckham family can be seen as iconic when it comes to fashion, so people will look up to them doing the advert, and will be willing to buy the products which they promote. It gives the image that if you're to buy the product, you will be seen as being on their level, and as stylish as them. What's more, it will make people believe that wearing the product can make them feel rich and glamorous. Using this couple will attract more customers, and just by them promoting the product, it makes the brand look more expensive than it is.
The advert is all about feeling comfortable in what you wear, and in your own skin, which can be shown throught the body language of the couple. For example Victoria's facial expression can be seen as seductive/sexual, as she is not looking directly at the camera, a very effective way to promote feeling confident with the product. Acting in a sexual manor can also help with promotion, as it shows a sense of passion for it.
The main connotations with the advert is fame and money. Whilst we can see how they make a good couple, Victoria Beckham for example, can symbolize fashion, showing how she individually is a good choice for the advert.
Divergent Movie Review
The 2014 Movie 'Divergent' is an action/adventure film, featuring romance. It's based on a world divided by five fractions, based on virtues. The main Character, Tris (Shailene Woodley), is tested as Divergent, and so changes the plot to her destiny. When she discovers a conspiracy by a faction leader, she has to learn to trust in the fraction she has chosen, and even more so, trust in the mysterious 'Four' (Theo James) to discover why being Divergent can be so dangerous.
This movie is based from a book series, written by Veronica Roth, set in the so-called Divergent Universe, which features a post-apocalyptic version of Chicago. 'Divergent' is constantly being compared to 'The Hunger Games' due to the fact that they are both based around a young girl putting herself in a position to change the outcome of the future, with the theme of romance involved throughout. Although they are similar in ways, I wouldn't give Divergent the full 5 star rating. This is mainly because I think it's been compared to The Hunger Games so much, that it's not as thrilling to watch.
A variety of costumes are used through out the film, including different costumes to suit the settings. For example, each Fraction of the City has a different virtue, with their work space around them being themed. In more depth, the selfless side of the population wear less modern-styled clothing to the more intelligent side of the population. As the main character Tris enters the 'brave' side of the City, and pledges to protect the city from danger, her clothing goes from old rags, to black modernized clothing. These new outfits compliment the dark, edgy feeling to being on the dangerous side of the City. This theme of the outfits matching the scenery occurs throughout the film.
Personally, I couldn't find much to fault with this film. The main Actors of this film would be Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Theo James. Together, they have won various Teen Choice awards, including Choice film. This is evidence that the audience of this film would be teenagers. I feel like the Actors and Actresses are important when it comes to a film like this one, mainly because they have to live up to the standards of how their characters are portrayed in the books.
I would recommend this film to any teenager, or anyone who's interested in action/adventure films, and maybe science fiction. The acting is excellent, and the costumes and settings compliment each other well, which I believe is a great indication of a well planned out film.

Photographic Composition.
The rule of thirds
This shows the main parts of the photo through the intersections when divided into thirds. For example, we can see that the light house is the main focus. Each third section shows a different view of the image, however we know the top right side of the image is the main interest.
Cropped
The image is cropped and does not entirely fit into the frame. This can have the affect of the picture being trapped, or closed in. For example, the lion's face fills the entire frame, with no space around it. Having the image cropped this way can encourage that there's more behind the image than what meets the eye.
Foreground/Background
The effect causes our eyes to switch and move between the foreground of the picture and the background. The photographer is more clear compared to the background, however the background's not completely blurred, allowing our eyes to switch between them.
Skewed
This image would be skewed, due to the photo being taken on an angle. Taking the picture from an angled view shows and exaggerates the feelings and affect of disorientation
Light And Shade
The contrast in this image is shown through Light and shade. It can create and emphasis the mood and tone to the image. For example, having the image with a white background, and black details in the woman dancing, gives a contrast between the two.
Lines And Shapes
The curved shapes and straight lines allow the picture to come together. For example, the curved path in this picture is more exagerated next to the straight lines from the bridge, and It can give the idea that the path leads off somewhere else.
