Armarni advert

In the Emporio Armarni advert, Victoria and David Beckham are the two main features in this picture and are representing men and women’s underwear.
Both Victoria and David are famous and are known as the duo ‘posh and becks’. Victoria is a high end and successful fashion designer/model and ex spice girl and so most women who are targeted toward this sale are likely to look up at her and are inspired by her. David on the other hand a famous footballer and model who is not only married to Victoria but was seen as the ‘sexiest man’ in 2013, so this will again appeal to women so they can look at him. It will also appeal to men because they want women to see them as ‘sexy’ and so they purchase the product.
The positioning of the two is that they are both very close together suggesting a close relationship; there is also a sense of sexual tension. The camera is angled at a mid-shot showing some part of the subject – being the under wear – in more detail, but still giving an impression of the whole subject. The fact they are both laying together in underwear suggests they are comfortable with each other, perhaps telling us that the underwear is like the relationship, comfortable yet sexual. The facial expression on the two are both seductive, they both look as if they feel comfortable in their environment and feel sexy, telling us that the underwear will make anyone of any shape or size feel sexy.
The black and white background creates a certain mood in the advert, the fact the two are shadowed by what looks like blinds tells us that the two are not telling us something, giving the audience a sense of mystery. This will make the audience want to buy the product because they will want to know what the mystery is and to do that they must buy the product.

The advert has the two names just above the logo in bold ‘David & Victoria Beckham’, this is so people definitely know who these two people are and how iconic they are in the fashion world. It also shows the logo which people recognise as expensive and people with money can really only afford, also influencing this is Victoria and David as people look at them as wealthy people; they are status models. The people aimed toward this brand are most likely to be A upper middle class and B middle class as these are the two wealthiest of the classes.
