Media Diary, Week 2

Bojack Horseman is an animated sitcom airing on Netflix. It is a comedy about former sitcom star 'Bojack Horseman' and his daily life as he begins writing an autobiography. It features voiceovers from Will Arnett and Aaron Paul among others.

The show is perfect for the Netflix model as the Netflix model encourages viewers to 'binge watch' programmes instead of waiting for the next week for the next episode. It benifits from not having to re-introduce characters to the audience every week which can prove to be a stumbling block for new sitcoms. There is also the story of the rise and fall of Bojack and from mega star to irrelevant former actor', Then the story of Bojack trying to present himself in a respectable light in an autobiography to kick start his now struggling career.

I found this text hilarious due to its observations about modern day culture and celebrities which are the punchline for a fair few of the shows gags.People would consume the show if they are interested in animated comedies such as 'Archer' for example and i would recommend it for these people. The show is also unafraid of dark themes and creates unexpected moments of drama too.
