The Fault in our Stars

Genre: Romance/Drama

The Fault in Our Stars is the film adaptation from the New York Times best-selling novel by author John Green.
The Fault in our Stars is movie about two teenagers, Augustus waters (played by Ansel Elgort) and Hazel Grace Lancaster (played by Shailene Woodley), who fall in love after meeting at a cancer support group. The film is heartbreaking, yet the romance and comedy is evident and is enough to make us smile even if it is just from one scene.

Hazel Grace Lancaster, aged sixteen, is the main female character of the film. She was diagnosed with stage 4  Thyroid cancer with metastasis forming in her lungs. When Hazel's mother decides she is depressed, she sends her to a Support Group, held in a church basement once a week. A few weeks into the support she meets Augustus Waters.

Augustus Waters, aged sixteen, is the main male character of the film. He was diagnosed with cancer, more specifically Osteosarcoma. He joins the support group to support his friend Isaac before he undergoes surgery, this is where he and Hazel meet. He is known in the film for also being a big believer in metaphors, an example being that he tends to place an unlit cigarette in his mouth and when Hazel questions him he says: "It's a metaphor, see: you put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing."

The soundtrack to the film includes songs from Ed Sheeran, Jake Bugg, Birdy, Tom Odell and many other big artists.
