Week 3

A text i have consumed this week is 'X-Factor' , this is a weekly show that goes all the way from auditions to the finals, the show features talented singers and during the earlier stages of the show some bad contestants which adds to the popularity. The show can be used for escapism and also for social reasons as the show is so popular people can talk about it with colleagues,friends etc.

This show would appeal to the mainstream as the show has been so successful and airs on ITV1 which is a trusted channel that the mainstream trusts to produce good content. A large majority of people watch it and the show can be talked about to most people. It could also be said that the aspirer may enjoy the show as they may see themselves as similar to some contestants
