Meghan Trainor - All About That Base
Camera/Editing

A majority of the video is filmed in a medium long shot, this is because fashion/looks are very important in the video and it is important that the viewer can see everything about each individual, how they look and what they are wearing. The editing is relatively quick and goes to the beat of the song.

Narrative

The song promotes positivity and goes against the stereotypical body image of an "ideal woman" as a size 0 "Barbie doll" . The lyrics also make an effort to make me comfortable with the way they are "Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top", basically you're perfect the way you are.

Conventional/Unconventional

The song if filmed entirely in a studio and does not feature a story, this could be considered unconventional to traditional pop songs like "Papa don't preach" . Another unconventional thing is the people used in the video are not all "models" and most are often just "normal", this could add a sense of realism to the video even though it is filmed in a studio,

What Works

I believe that because the video is filmed entirely in the studio as it reinforces that it is not a story but a real life situation for some people who view their body in a negative way
