Watch Your Own Heart Attack - British Heart Foundation

Ideologies

The British Heart foundation cannot tell or know that you are in danger of a heart attack if you don't make anyone aware of the possible side effects the person is experiencing. people experiencing the effects must tell the hospital or inform their doctor so that we can save more lives.

Character/Visual Techniques

There are two men in an almost empty room - one man is suffering from the effects that a heart attack can cause, the other in inflecting them onto him. ECU and CU are used to intensify the how the effects can effect a person and to make the audience feel more aware of what is going on and puts them on edge as they could get the impression that the man suffering could die. The setting used is a room with nothing but a table in it. The voice over is firm and has an urgent tone to it. The advert ends with a black screen saying "No two heart attacks are the same. Symptoms can be mild or severe" and the showing the logo and the website information.

Lines of Appeal

There are a lot of shock tactics used in this advert as the man is inflicting pain upon another. The reward and punishment ideology is apparent here because the person who is having a heart attack is either going to die because they did not report it or take notice of any of the side effects or, if they do report them they will have a more chance of surviving so that doctors can prevent a heart attack occurring.
