Sex Pistols

The youth which represented the punk culture were portrayed in the media in different ways. The Sex Pistols own video for their single 'Holidays in the sun' shows the youth crowd as a violent, rebellious, angst fuelled mob. There are a few times in the video where members of the crowd are swearing at the camera while bouncing into each over, starting mosh pits, and drunkenly head banging. The crowd is all crushed into a small area as well, the sweaty young adults leaning over the front barrier show how the band was idolised even in their early days.

The band themselves are portrayed as angry, energetic youths following the punk dress code of leather and spiked hair.
