David G

"The traditional view of a woman as a housewife or low-status- worker has been kick-boxed out of the picture by the feisty, successful 'girl power' icons. "

Cosmopolitan role modes

"The masculine ideals of absolute toughness, stubborn self reliance and emotional silence have been shaken by a new emphasis on mens emotions, need for advice, and the problem of masculinity'

Representation of men

"Role models serve as navigation points as individuals steer their own personal route through life"

"Surveys have found that people born in the first half of the twentieth century are less tolerant of homesexuality and less sympathetic to unmarried couples live together"

These people are represented by traditional magazines representing traditional views, magazines like cosmopolitan to not target these people, a cover girl for a cosmopolitan cover such as a pop star does not target over 65's in their music.

'The mass media has become more libera, and considerably more challenging traditional standards, since then, and this has been a reflection of changing attitudes'

The media has helped changed and decreased the support of traditional views and this has helped changing attitudes across the mainstream
