What is the purpose: The purpose of Team Fortress 2 is to give the player team based objectives with other players online, the objective vary from capturing intelligence to moving bomb carts to a specific location while another team defends that location.

Institution producing the text: The institution that created Team Fortress 2 was the gaming industry. It was created by the company known as Valve.

Target audience: The target audience is typically a male with a disposable income in order to be able to create a computer capable running games on a computer. They are roughly between the ages of 20 and 30 whose main hobby is playing games.  Their favourite type of media is gaming and they have a good amount of knowledge in computers.

My reaction to the text: I thought it was a highly enjoyable experience, each character in the game felt completely different and were very entertaining to listen to. The gameplay was always fast paced and really made me feel like I was a part of a large team and that I was necessary in winning for the team. The art style was bright and colourful and really contrasted with the generic grey military shooter that most people expect.

Why would people consume the text: People would mainly consume this text if they enjoyed the genre Team Fortress 2 is from, they would also consume this text for when they wanted to get involved with a competition or wanted to work with a group of people for the same common goal.

Could some people react in different ways to the text? How? : Some people could react negatively to Team Fortress 2, for example they could see it as childish due to the humour and cartoon art style. However they could also see it as unnecessarily violent due to the blood, gore and body parts that are sent flying after an opponent is blown up. Some could see it as boring due to having a limited variety of objectives and maps to choose from.  Others could see it as a shameless free to play that is only out to restrict those that do not spend any money on weapons or accessories in the game.
