Thatcher

Thatcher is seen as the women who divided Britain, as people throughtout Britain either hated her or agreed with her ideologies and policies. Usually the people who supported Thatcher and the Conservatives were the right wing and supporters of the National Front, which was a far right, racist organisation. Thatcher appealed to the people with conservative views on race and sexuality. Thatcher passed many polices while she was in power that adhered to these traditional conservative views. For example, she objected to the number of Asian immigrants, wanting to reduce the amount of Vietnamese
Boat people fleeing from the Vietnamese war. Another policy she implemented that severely affected the people of England, particularly the working class was reduced expenditure on social services such as housing and education.
