The piece of media that changed my life would be the Sinners Never asleep album by You Me At Six
Before listening to this album I had mixed views on the genre rock/alternative rock. The album contains different genres of rock which allowed me to experience the range of music available in this genre. After listening to it I started to discover different bands similar to You Me At Six, but also bands that are completely different.
I have gained more friends through listening to different music and I have been to a lot more gigs and festivals. My music taste goes from indie to heavy metal but I also have a slight interest in pop music.
