Masthead:
This is usually the title of the magazine, most of the time it takes up 15% to 20% of the cover. The title will usually always look the same so audiences are aware it is this brand the moment they see it. Most of the time it is just one word so it is easy to remember.
Strapline:
This is a phrase usually placed below the title in smaller writing. It can usually relate to the target audience and can be an ideology of the magazine.
Coverlines:
Most of the cover of the magazine are covered in these sub-headings. There is usually one title more prominent than the rest because this is supposed to be the main coverline.
Main Image
The main image of the magazine usually takes up the majority of the whole cover, the cover usually sends across a message to the audience of what the magazine is based around. There is no border and it fits in the background so it is noticeable and so the titles are noticeable over it.
