When they start to speak in a different language it shows us that they don't want anyone including the audience to be listening to them, it also shows that the audience is not privileged to be able to listen to their conversation so speaking in a different language which the audience won't recognise shows they are speaking about something which can only be discussed privately.
The wide shot (WS) of the restaurant shows us that the restaurant currently doesn't have many customers which means that they're will be few witnesses if anything goes wrong. The wide shot also implies that they're no people that can help Michael in this situation since he hasn't got anyone to stop a life threatening situation.

While in the bathroom looking for the gun in the bathroom we still hear the sound of the pipes, the sound of pipes shows us wherever Michael is he is still going to feel trapped.
When Michael renters the room after being to the bathroom he sits down and there is a close up (CS) on his face, this close up (CS) shows us that Michael feels trapped because of the two police officers. We know that Michael doesn't want to be isolated in this close up, we know this because it shows it in his facial expression.
