GLAMOUR Magazine |
The main image of the magazine is of a medium close up, due to only being able to see the models body from the knees upwards. Also a direct mode of address is used in this advert, we know this as the model in the picture appears to be staring directly at the audience of the magazine. The models head is covering the M if the word GLAMOUR on the masthead of the magazine, this is is suggesting that the magazine is that well known, people are able t recognise it is that Magazine even when part of the masthead is covered. The way the model is standing is almost as if she has done something mischievous, this connotes with the copy of the magazine, where it says ''Did Anna Kendrick REALLY say that?!" Suggesting that Anna Kendrick has said something wrong or mischievous.
Everything works together from a visual perspective on this magazine cover as the way the copy at the side of the model is set out, it merely covers any of the models body, this is great from a visual perspective as it does not give the feel of the cover of the magazine a cluttered feel, as this may deter readers as it can look unprofessional, which is definitely what GLAMOUR magazine is not about. We ow this as the word glamour is signifies about possible looking good, and being stylish. So having a stylish cover resembles the meaning behind the company. The theme of the magazine is about summer, so they are going to advertise and emphasise that summer is near, they do this as they know the readers of the magazine are woman, and typically many women like buying summer clothes, ''499 wardrobe treats inside'' the emphasis of the ''499'shows the wide range of the clothes they sell.
Devices used to draw the audience to the magazine is the emphasis of ''SUMMER'' the word is capitalised and a different colour the rest of the sentence. They do this as it makes the word stand out, attracting people who are interested in summer.
