Semiotic analysis of MensHealth

MensHealth's masthead is large and simplistic. However the large Font gives the masthead confidence. The use of 'Health' connotes that health is an important and it is to be taken serious. This magazines main message is about living a healthy life and that appearance is important.  Though this magazine does not have a strapline it does have many cover lines.
The cover image is the famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. MensHealth is focused on health and having a muscular body, they use a character of similar body type of want they want to inspire their readers with. The medium long shot shows us only the important aspects of Ronaldo, his upper body and face. Ronaldo is also currently wearing his own underwear line, which also promotes him even further. He is smiling and is making direct eye contact with the audience. This visually connects the reader and the magazine together, attracting the audience to buy the magazine.

The colour of the cover lines have a theme of red, blue and yellow and these are primary colours, connoting that this magazine is original and natural.
