Titanium - Media Coursework

The video starts off with a young boy ducking into a ball and as he lifts up his head we see he looks scared and the hallway that he is in looks wrecked. We see instantly that something bad has happened and possibly he did it. The editing shows how we see the mess as the boy does because as he lifts his head up the camera shows a long shot of the boy and the mess all around him. As he starts to walk down the corridor he looks slightly confused and when he passes a classroom we see a woman in the doorway on the phone. The woman sees him and looks very scared of him and she mouths the words "police please". This confirms that it was him that did the mess in the hallway but we still don't know why. This adds mystery and makes the audience pay attention to what is happening so they can figure out what is going on.

The next shot shows the boy go outside and see the police arrive. He just walks on as though nothing has happened but we can see the look of fear on his face as goes and gets on the bike. The woman comes out from the school and looks horrified so we can see that this boy definitely not normal and he has done something to make everyone notice him. When the woman points to where the boy was he isn't there any more and we next see him on the bike going very fast and this shows he must be something like an alien because no one could go so fast especially not a young boy.

When he passes the two women jogging he blends in because they don't know what has happened yet. The boy also puts his head in his hands and hides his face. This shows how he usually just blends in with everyone else and doesn't draw attention to himself so to have people scared of him is not normal.

When he returns home we see that the incident is all over the news and it says "supernatural"  so we now know what happened definitely was not normal and not of this world. There is also a book saying emergency and a poster saying as yet the power to save the world. This suggests that he has powers and it points towards him being an alien or a ghost because of his powers.

In the boys room we can see a trophy and medals. This shows he must be good at something like sports because it looks like a sports trophy he has and because he was so fast on the bike. This also shows maybe why he did what he did because people that are good at something in schools are often bullied and he was trying to protect himself.

As the SWATS break into the house we see the boy pick up the keys with his mind and this proves the powers that he has. This also points to him being an alien. When they come into the back of the house though they see things floating and are all startled by it and it proves that they are trying to capture an alien and this also gives him time to escape and run a way. He runs away into the forest but he is soon found by the people that are chasing him and they capture him. They look terrified and they fear him. As they are pointing their guns at him though he starts to get into a ball like at the start f the video and he sets of a force field of some kind and blasts them away from him.  This shows us why he was in a ball at the start and the mess and also why people were afraid of him.

Overall this video is outstanding because the narrative is just excellent. The way we don't find out what has happened until the end just blows you away because the ending links to the beginning and the video is like one continuous loop/story.
