She is wearing a leotard that is covered by the bag and suggests that she is naked but the leotard is still visible so the ad doesn’t get deemed controversial. Gaga has a very natural make up look in this photo, which is a lot different to Lady Gaga’s “usual” style, it suggests that she is not wearing any make up, and that she is just naturally beautiful. The main colour of this picture is lavender, which is a very fashionable colour, which makes Lady Gaga look trendy and reflects well on the product.

This is the recent advertisement for the fifth season of a well-known program, American Horror Story. Lady Gaga is presented as being very seductive; she is sat on a bed as if to invite you in, and is wearing all red.  The reason the advertisement has done this is because the programme is very taboo, and involves a lot of violence, drug use and sex. The red also connotes danger, as does the glove with the sharp nails, the positioning of her hand suggests two things, one is that she is thinking the other is that she uses this glove to kill, due to the glove being so close to the red lipstick, and the fact that she is a vampire in this programme suggests that the glove is her weapon. The fact that Lady Gaga is by herself is significant, considering that there are a lot of people involved in this programme it connotes that Gaga is the main character.

But it has been called empowering due to the fact she is big and all these men climbing over her are small, however she is blindfolded which suggests she is being submissive but she is still the most powerful image in the picture. The lighting is black and white, which shows her as being sophisticated due to the fact that black and white is linked with classical, and so is she, even though she is naked. Due to this advertisement being about her perfume, the advertiser had to use shock factor, as that is a big part of her fame and is what she is most recognised for.
