Tom Cruise wears a navy uniform, this allows us to see that his character is in a dangerous line of work implying that he is a very adventurous and strong character.
He has a stern face and a focused look showing that he is driven and determined at what he does. He has quite a big, powering stance symbolising masculinity making the audience look up to him and see him as a authority figure.
He holds his helmet and mask under his arm and in is hand, this emphasises what Toms job is, however he is not wearing this equipment, implying that he may be getting ready to go out and do his job, showing again how he is a prepared worker.
